As noted on our COVID-19 Dashboard, Thursday, April 8, 2021 we learned about a School Associated Case of COVID-19 in the Upper Elementary School.
We are working closely with District Health Department #10 to identify Close Contacts of this School Associated Case. Any students or staff that have been identified as a close contact will be notified by the health department and/or Mason County Central Schools as a part of the COVID-19 investigation process. Please answer the phone if the health department or MCC Schools calls you, as a contact tracer may be trying to reach you with important information.
Thank you for understanding that, due to medical privacy laws, we are not able to release the names of the individuals with COVID-19. We will continue to communicate changes and updates with you. With your help, we believe we can maintain a safe environment while also providing quality education. If you have any questions, contact District Health Department #10 at 231-845-7381. This is our April Newsletter! Let's congratulate our Students of the Month: Mya Howard, Prestyn Dood, and Tristin Cullen! ChalkHeadz Training Center in Ludington has openings for all classes! They accept children as young as 1!!! Please contact them with any questions!
Last pick up for Farmers to Families food box is today starting at 4:30 in the middle school parking lot until we run out or 5:30.
Summer Rec ball registration papers will be going home tomorrow in Friday Folders! Deadline for registration is Friday, April 23. Please note the dates of round-ups!
Mason County 4-H has established the 4-H Clover Crate Program. It’s a monthly service they've set up where 4-H youth receive a special project to work on each month. The topics range from STEM, Arts and Crafts, Outdoor Survival, History, and beyond.
On the last Tuesday of each month, they will set up a contactless delivery system at two locations in the county (Usually the Mason County Reformed Church and Mason County Eastern High School Parking lot).
Farmers to Families food box distribution from 4:30-5:30 at the middle school parking lot TODAY!!!!
The Mobile Dentist will be here at the Upper Elementary on April 21st. These forms will be coming home with your students in Friday Folders tomorrow, if you could turn these in as soon as possible.
The PTC is having a Spartan Gear sale to help support fun opportunities such as future field trips, good behavior events, playground upgrades, and much, much more! The forms will be coming home with your students this week! They need to be turned in no later than March 25th!
Tomorrow is Adventure Hat Day for March is Reading Month! Wear a fishing, hunting, mining, any kind of hat to school to show what kind of adventure you'd like to go on!!!
Mason County 4-H is partnering with Montcalm County 4-H to offer kids an Alternative Spring Break Experience by providing them with some virtual activities they can do at home if their families aren’t going on vacation. They are going to be hosting a cooking workshop for kids where they learn how to make homemade Baked Mozzarella Sticks and learn a little about the science behind them. Tomorrow; Tuesday, March 9th; is CRAZY SOCK DAY for March is Reading Month! Have your children wear crazy or mismatched socks to show their excitement for READING!!!
Dear MCC School Family,
This morning we were made aware of a suspicious vehicle and interaction with one of our Upper Elementary Students while walking home from school yesterday, March 4th. We are working with local law enforcement to investigate this matter and are asking that you help us keep a watchful eye out for our community's children. It truly takes a village to raise our children and it is all of our responsibility to help keep them safe.
If you should see any suspicious activity, do not hesitate to report it to law enforcement and/or the school. We will work together to check into it.

Today kicks off March is Reading Month! Our theme this year is "Adventure"! Mr. Kimes dressed the part of an adventurer today, and wrote a poem which he read for our morning announcements!
Good afternoon! Because life/accidents happen, we are in need of some clothing donations, boys athletic pants and girls leggings sizes 8 through 14! Please no jeans, corduroys or fleece lined pants! If you would like to donate drop them off at the Upper Elementary, call us at 757-5720 when you get here and one of us will run out and grab them! Thank you!
Through the hard work of our food service staff, Mason County Central Schools get 4 more weeks of USDA Farmers to Families food boxes. Upcoming dates are March 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd!
An important reminder for safety purposes, please do not drop off or have your children walk to school before 8:15, as we do not have adult supervision before 8:15. We have had students playing in the road and misbehaving which at times can transfer over to an unhealthy learning environment and potentially dangerous situations. Your help in this area would be greatly appreciated.
